The price for vinyl floor strip and seal depends on the total area, the condition of your vinyl, the difficulty of removing old sealant, and the overall complexity of the job. Generally, costs range from about $10 to $25 per square metre. Our minimum service charge is $400, though this may be waived if other services, such as carpet or upholstery cleaning, were also booked for the same day.
Do I need to remove furniture?
For the best coverage, it’s ideal to have minimal items on the floor. If there’s no furniture, we can clean wall-to-wall. For heavy furniture like cabinets or equipment, we can go around them with no problem. Just ensure small items are out of the way. During the on-site quote, the technician will discuss the best options with you.
Do you offer a no-obligation on-site quote?
Yes, we do offer this service to commercial customers. Once we receive your request, we’ll arrange a day that’s convenient for you, when we're nearby, to visit and inspect your floor and measure the area with a laser. Alternatively, if you know the total area, you can provide this in the form here. We’ll then contact you by email, where you can reply with photos of the area and your address for further assessment.
How long will the service take?
The duration depends on the size and condition of the job. During the on-site assessment, we'll provide you with an accurate estimate.
When is the best time to have this service done?
It's best to do it in warm months for proper drying. If your space has good heating, winter can also be fine. Under good conditions, each coat takes at least 30 minutes to dry fully, but colder temperatures may delay drying and increase the service cost.
Do I need to be present while you do the strip and seal?
Not necessarily, unless you prefer to be there. We can proceed with the service and call you when we are about 30 minutes from finishing, so you can return to lock up the premises.
How long does the new floor sealant take to dry?
The final coat takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to dry, depending on the temperature. While it begins to set quickly, it can take up to 24-48 hours to fully harden and reach maximum protection. To avoid damage, keep foot traffic to a minimum during this period. We recommend scheduling this service on a Friday or Saturday, depending on your business hours.
How should I maintain my vinyl floor after your service?
Use a neutral cleaner with a pH level of 7 for regular cleaning, avoiding harsh chemicals that can damage the sealant. We can recommend suitable brands to keep your floor looking shiny. Keep in mind, the sealant will eventually fade from foot traffic—busy areas like kindergartens may need this service once or twice a year.
